1. Our commitment
MindEat is an app for meal planning, shopping lists, price comparison and cooking. We want everyone to be able to use it, including people with disabilities, and we work to make the mindeat.app website and the iOS and Android apps accessible in line with Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.
2. Conformance level
Our target is Israeli Standard SI 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.0, at level AA. As of the date of this statement, conformance is partial. The items that do not conform yet are listed in section 5, and work on them is ongoing.
3. What is accessible on the website
- Every page declares its language and text direction, so screen readers read it in the right language.
- Images have text alternatives, and interactive elements have labels.
- The site can be navigated by keyboard, and the focused element is clearly marked. The home page has a "Skip to main content" link.
- When the device asks for reduced motion, animations and the demo video do not play. The demo video can be paused by clicking it.
- The site supports dark and light appearance and every screen size, and does not block browser zoom.
4. What is accessible in the app
- Full support for Hebrew (right to left) and English.
- Dark and light appearance following the device setting.
- The device's reduced-motion setting is respected.
- Text size follows the device setting, up to the limit described in section 5.
- Some buttons and images are labeled for screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack).
5. Known limitations
In the app:
- Some icon-only buttons are not yet labeled for screen readers, so VoiceOver and TalkBack announce them without a name.
- Recipe and product images are not yet described for screen readers.
- Text size is capped at 135% of the regular size, even when the device is set larger.
- Some buttons are smaller than the recommended touch target.
- On some screens, grey secondary text in light appearance does not meet the required contrast ratio.
Remediation in the app began in October 2026 and is progressing area by area. This statement is updated as each area is completed.
6. Physical accessibility
MindEat is a digital-only service and has no office or premises open to the public.
